The level of artistry that went into this tiny case expresses the creative spirit of this era. Open the pouch and take a look at the ivory fastener that is firmly secured on the textile with two metal pieces. The integrity of this fastener is impressive. When closing the case, the curved edge of the ivory clip lifts up to create just enough space to latch onto a two-tone woven cord.
What to put in this delightful little piece? I would insert the best quality shaved sandalwood pieces and keep it in my purse. As you open and close your purse, it’s subtle aroma wafts outwards. Or a love letter folded 10 times from your secret admirer? The intimately scaled case is waiting for your imagination to give it a life.
