This little bird once lived on a desk as a resting place for sumi ink brush as the writer would pause or take a break from their works. The ink still stays in small patches on the edges and underside of the porcelain from its days of use, adding visual evidence of the life it has lived. Though as writing habits changed and the brush isn’t used for everyday writing, this ceramic beauty can be appreciated as art with no function to necessarily fulfill.

It features beautiful line and brush details in the birds’ feathers, face, and decorative elements. The whimsical nature of this fudeoki could liven up any writing desk or hung on the wall giving this bird a taste of flight.

It will surely bring light and joy to your environment it joins, as if this little birdie had flown right into your home.
