While it is no longer as common to carry your own sewing kit, it is a mindset, a delight, to slip this fine work into your luggage.
Alternatively, you could place it in your craft drawer or cabinet and, enjoy the craftsmanship of a bygone era from a far away place. The case folds open on both sides; each side is held shut by a fastener made with a violet thread and small ivory pins, just a few millimeters wide. When opened, you will find a red needle cushion, a small pocket to store thread in, and a second pocket for something special.
To avoid stains, we have removed the rusted needles that were found on the needle cushion. They have been kept and will accompany the sewing kit to its next home.
