The Furoshiki graphic is intentional, with colors complementing each other and a design packed with details yet left with plenty of room to breathe. I particularly love the striking pink that surrounds the crane and floral pattern on one of the fans. We do not see this pink these days.
Furoshiki (wrapping cloths) come in a variety of designs and sizes. You could wrap almost any object of whatever size or shape with a bit of ingenuity and the knowledge of how to fold things correctly.
The textile is made with Chijimi silk. While it may have discolored in certain areas, it is an accidental gift from the hands of time. It also reflects its life as an everyday object that was loved and used. It was not seen as "fine art" but made with an equal level of expertise, effort, and care.
