In the small village of Haigyu deep in the mountains of Shikoku, Japan, Isao Nakamura has revived kamisuki, the craft of papermaking, using only the purest of natural materials, river water, and centuries-old hand crafted techniques.
In 2007, Misako Mitsui curated " Beyond Craft: Kamisuki, Paper as a Process: an exhibition of papers by Isao Nakamura at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco.
